Asihwarya Rai Bachchan will be honoured in the arts segment: The actress will receive the honour for her contribution to arts and culture at the opening ceremony of the Vishwa Kannada Sammelana in Belgaum. The function is aimed at honouring the people of Karnataka for their excellence in various fields. Ash will be honoured in the arts segment.
Ash has Mangalorean roots; she was born in Karnataka. Ever since she won the Miss World tiara, she has been a constant source of pride for the Kannadigas.
